Make Money at Affiliate Marketing
Okay, here is the page with the links I sent out in the newsletter. If you find something irrelevant, let me know so I can rethink whether it should be here. If you find something totally cool that you think belongs on this list, also let me know, so I can add it for all of us!
BASIC HTML PAGE AUTHORING SKILLS
- PageTutor.com -- My favorite tutorials.
- HTMLgoodies.com -- Good for other tutorials, and for those who prefer his style.
- WebTutor download -- slightly older, but just-as-good full tutorial from Joe Barta that you can download to your own computer. Click the link, and if that doesn't start the download (be sure to download it to somewhere you'll remember, maybe make a special file for downloaded files), right click and choose "save target as...".

DISCUSSION BOARDS
- ABestweb -- When commission junction closed their boards, a bunch of us migrated here. A good board for cj affiliates, as well as more general info.
- SearchEngineForums.com -- One of the best sources for up to date Search Engine optimization on all important search engines. Don't worry about registering and posting, just get used to reading there.
- Amazon Associates Board -- Truth is I don't know if you can register for this board if you are not yet an Amazon affiliate. If not, and you are interested, go ahead and register as an Amazon associate.
AFFILIATE PROGRAMS
- *****
Commission Junction
-- Number one money maker for many affiliates. The best place to start, since you will be lots more likely to see the money if you succeed.
- *****AllPosters.com -- Posters can be marketed on almost any site, and the commission is 20%. We'll also be discussing automated ways to churn out poster pages.
- *****Word Tracker -- You'll be using this program, if even only the free version. The affiliate program will allow you to make some spare change when you recommend it to others.
- *****Amazon.com Associates Program -- A meager 5% commission and a $10 limit, and not 2-tiered, but it does great since folks love to buy via Amazon.com. I'll also be discussing a lot of ways to use their links to drive sales.
- ShareASale -- Harder to navigate than cj, but most affiliates say they pay.
- Performics.com -- not 2-tiered, long time for approval by merchants, but some top name merchants, and general word on the net is they pay. I use only 3 merchants so far.
- LinkShare.com
-- You must be very careful which merchants you sign up for at LinkSnare. If you choose the right ones, good. If not, you will probably never see the money you earn.
- BeFree/Reporting.net -- Same deal as LinkSnare, with even worse problems, though I have heard of folks making money on some merchants there.
-
ClickBank -- Not as easy to navigate, mostly smaller businesses, but the tracking is solid and there are some useful merchants.
- FineClicks.com -- Save this for later. This is per-lead place. Maybe you'll be better at making money than I am with leads. I fail utterly at it.
- Affiliatefuel.com -- More leads programs. I like the guys who run this place, but I can't make money on leads.
Reminder: by signing up under these links you give me a financial incentive to make sure you succeed! Your earnings are not effected at all by signing up under these links (and I don't make anything from the programs which are not 2-tiered)
Other Recommendations
Ken doesn't spam or sell your email address, I know, since I have subscribed to several of these free courses. They're delivered by autoresponder - just send a blank email to request one or all of these free courses:
Take some time to explore the Make Your Site Sell site and check out ALL their excellent resources. The job of an affiliate market master is to pre-sell a product and drive that pre-sold traffic to the merchant to buy, buy, buy. You will get excellent advice in Ken's courses on affiliate marketing. We highly recommend the Affiliate Masters course!
PAY PER CLICK SEARCH ENGINES
- FindWhat.com -- Taking over in the place of Overture.com in the world of $0.01 bids. Good targetted traffic.
- Kanoodle
-- Fast addition of keywords. Don't add small traffic keywords, it just clutters up your listing since you can't sort by URL. They also have a free version of Wordtracker there optimized for their search engine.
- 7Search.com -- Pretty good interface, decent traffic. Be careful to make sure you don't use the side bar option, it can eat up your funds.
- goClick -- Fast listing, you can sort by URL, and you can use their keyword tool to find out which of your terms actually gets searched for there.
